I Cry

Sometimes when I'm alone
I Cry,
Cause I am on my own.
The tears I cry are bitter and warm.
They flow with life but take no form
I Cry because my heart is torn.
I find it difficult to carry on.
If I had an ear to confide in,
I would cry among my treasured friend,
but who do you know that stops that long,
to help another carry on.
The world moves fast and it would rather pass by.
Then to stop and see what makes one cry,
so painful and sad.
And sometimes...
I Cry
and no one cares about why.

Bible Study: A broken heart may be the result of broken promises, broken friendships, broken relationships, broken families, broken marriages, or the death of a someone. Regardless of the source of brokenness, you feel as if your life has been shattered - just as Bathsheba and David felt when their baby boy died (see 2 Sam. 12:15-24). In many instances, the void seems too great to fill, and many of us wonder how they can go on living. As we study the scriptures, we find that Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted (Luke 4:18). We can take comfort in knowing that God is aware of the condition of our hearts (Heb. 4:14). The Bible teaches us that wherever our treasures are, our hearts will be there also (Matt. 6:21). Our healing begins when we learn to shift the focus of our heart from the broken circumstances to the All- Sufficiency of God. This process of refocusing our hearts begins with the transforming of our minds (Rom. 12:1). As we seek the Lord with all our heart we must believe that God is thinking about us and cares for us. We need to feel free to come to God with our pain and sorrow, just as David and Bathsheba did (2Sam. 12:16). We must believe God has a plan to give us hope and a bright future, and that God will be with us always - even in the midst of our deepest pain and sorrow (Jer. 29:11:14; Matt. 28:20). As we begin to refocus our hearts and minds on God. The Lord God that heals, we will become the recipient of God's promise to heal the brokenhearted and bind the wounds of the afflicted (Jer. 30:17).
Read 2 Samuel 12:15-24.

Holy Saturday

(The Sabbath) Day Of Rest

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy” (Exodus 20:8)

The word Sabbath comes from a Hebrew word meaning rest. Before the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Sabbath day commemorated God’s day of rest after He finished the Creation. It was a sign of the covenant between God and His people. We read in the book of Genesis that God created the heavens and the earth in six periods of time, which He called days: “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it” (Genesis 2:2–3).

Now the Sabbath also commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Sabbath day is every seventh day. It is a holy day ordained by God for us to rest from our daily labors and worship Him. Jesus taught that the Sabbath day was made for our benefit (see Mark 2:27). The purpose of the Sabbath is to give us a certain day of the week on which to direct our thoughts and actions toward God. As we rest from our usual daily activities, our minds are freed to ponder spiritual matters. On this day we should renew our covenants with the Lord and feed our souls on the things of the Spirit.

Think about what you can do to keep the purpose of the Sabbath in mind as you prepare for the day each week.

Until His Resurrection, Jesus Christ and His disciples honored the seventh day as the Sabbath. After His Resurrection, Sunday was held sacred as the Lord’s day in remembrance of His Resurrection on that day (see Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2). From that time on, His followers observed the first day of the week as their Sabbath. In both cases there were six days of labor and one for rest and devotion.

What kinds of things may we do on the Sabbath? The prophet Isaiah suggested that we should turn away from doing our own pleasure and should “call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable” (Isaiah 58:13).

We should consider righteous things we can do on the Sabbath. For example, we can keep the Sabbath day holy by attending Church meetings; reading the scriptures and the words of our Church leaders; visiting the sick, the aged, and our loved ones; listening to uplifting music and singing hymns; praying to our Heavenly Father with praise and thanksgiving; performing Church service; preparing family history records and personal histories; telling faith-promoting stories and bearing our testimony to family members and sharing spiritual experiences with them; writing letters to missionaries and loved ones; fasting with a purpose; and sharing time with children and others in the home.

In deciding what other activities we could properly engage in on the Sabbath, we could ask ourselves: Will it uplift and inspire me? Does it show respect for the Lord? Does it direct my thoughts to Him? There may be times when we are required to work on the Sabbath. We should avoid this whenever possible, but when it is absolutely necessary, we should still maintain the spirit of Sabbath worship in our hearts as much as possible.

The Lord has said that if we keep the Sabbath day with thanksgiving and cheerful hearts, we will be full of joy.

Exodus 31:16–17 (the Sabbath is a perpetual covenant between the Lord and His people)

Is the Sabbath on a Saturday or Sunday (I'm still not sure)
Agree or Disagree?

The first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord's Day (Revelation 1:10) or  Sabbath Saturday Jesus resting? Each individual Christian should decide whether to observe a Sabbath rest, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind” (Romans 14:5). We are to worship God every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday. Keep one Keep both or all days..

godiz - I personally rest on a Sunday :-) No where does God number or name the days. Man does. God was just interested in us resting and spending one day with him. To me rest must have meant on "Sunday" since Jesus went to heaven = rest.

The Greatest Good Friday

Thank You!

godiz - I so do NOT deserve You but I Am so blessed to have You.

From one of my best friends:

You bestie yesterday I got to see the high ratings mini series on the history channel called " the bible" the last very story of the series was on Christ life and crucifixion..I watched as much as I could..I smiled I cried I was angry I was shocked and at the end I felt peace...I remember saying to u " seeing isn't believing it's believing that is truly seeing" I watched the story of Christ and I was shocked to hear Christ had said that..I never ever heard that before , I smiled knowing what I known all in my heart; Christ had already said that..He said that to Paul after the resurrection saying , " you see therefore you believe, but those are blessed who haven't seen me that already believe". I cried! I take that to heart, for I always believe that is what Faith is..I've not seen you yet bestie face to face, tho' we will... but I've already met you..heart to heart. Soul to soul..I may not know it all but I know you and know enough..enough to know I see your soul mind and heart..I've known it since..I know what you're about and what u desire. I have a sense of what your worries are and I have the honor of knowing what makes your heart beat..seeing that series further reinstated just what faith and belief is..and knowing only has enhanced that..thank you.
