In My Hoods You Will Find

Tricking & Treating

I don't really celebrate paganism like that... but whether i want it or not! living on earth, I will be surrounded by it. So, I choose to not focus on what other people focus on. Most important is knowing who you are (self-control) wherever you are. Jesus never changed just because satan was around, or because people where acting wicked. He still did His thing and is still doing His thing, and so will i. I do not like the fact that parents let their kids go tricking & treating, knocking on random doors, begging for things and what so ever.

Though i wouldn't mind "if" i ever had kids in the future, to perhaps have a fun day at home, where we would play board games, maybe paint our faces into something cute, eat candies and watch funny movies together. I don't see it as a bad thing. Just make sure to teach your kids the real TRUTH! Make your own thing out of everything worldly, if it's bad to you... turn it into something good, on any day you like. It don't have to be on a specific date or time. Or just don't pay attention to it at all. Do you! Most people choose to be ignorant followers, cause It's easier that way. Sad but true... So, people! Be safe... stay at home LOL! j/k

But really...what you should do is to set your eyes on God, and you will be fine. He is the only way... He will clearly show you the good from the bad, He will help you make the right (individual) decisions. Just let Him in, He will take care of everything needed, Hey! you won't lose anything :-)

Ps. Not saying dive into bad situations or environments. Use your brains please! Stay out of the bad... if you know It's bad.

Fear God and God only
Peace & Blessings

NBA Opening

Parker helps Spurs edge Mavs 101-100 in opener

By RAUL DOMINGUEZ - Posted Oct 29 2014 12:16AM

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Tony Parker made a clutch shot in the fourth quarter. Manu Ginobili had a big game, and Tim Duncan contributed with a double-double.
San Antonio's efficient performance on opening night looked awfully familiar.
Parker made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:07 remaining, and the Spurs began their title defense with a thrilling 101-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.
Parker finished with 23 points and Ginobili scored 20 for San Antonio, which shot 53 percent from the field. Tim Duncan had 14 points and 13 rebounds for his 14th double-double in a season opener, the most by any player in NBA history, according to Elias Sports.
Dirk Nowitzki gave Dallas a 100-98 lead with a fadeaway jumper over Boris Diaw with 1:37 remaining, but Parker drained a 3-pointer 30 seconds later in front of the Mavericks' bench off a feed from Diaw. Parker was 4 for 4 from long range, matching a career high for 3s in a game.
"It was a great basketball game, you can't kick off the season with a better game than this for the fans - there's no way," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. "Unfortunately, the slim margins of winning and losing are all that anybody remembers. If we get one more stop one more basket than we're all him here singing a different tune. That's the world we live in the Western Conference."
Monta Ellis scored 26 points for Dallas, and Nowitzki had 18. Devin Harris finished with 17 points.
Chandler Parsons, who signed with the Mavericks in the offseason, missed a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds remaining. His shot hit the front of the rim.
The miss extended San Antonio's streak to five wins following a championship celebration, but it was the first since capturing its last title in 2007.
"It's special," Ginobili said. "I think it helps you actually. Sometimes you don't play that sharp because it's the first game of the season. You have to move from the success of the previous season to the new beginning. But it all gets your emotions up so you want to get out on the court and do a lot of things, hustle, jump, run and win."
Following a video recap of the 2014 season narrated by actor and Spurs fan Samuel L. Jackson, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver presented San Antonio's staff and players with their championship rings. The inscription inside the ring was "Good to Great," which was coach Gregg Popovich's mantra last season.
The ring presentation even drew a series of fist pumps from the normally stoic Popovich.
It was the teams' first meeting since Dallas took San Antonio to seven games in the opening round of the playoffs last season - the Spurs' toughest test during their run to a fifth NBA championship. The rematch proved just as tense after a sluggish beginning.
San Antonio committed five turnovers in the first eight minutes and missed its first three shots before returning to the fluid offense that led to a five-game rout of the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.
The third quarter included technical fouls for teammates Tyson Chandler and Nowitzki about a minute apart after both argued calls made by official Jason Phillips.
Nowitzki continued to argue against an offensive foul even after receiving the technical, leading Duncan to walk by the Mavericks star a few times to argue in the contrary.
Spurs: This was the fifth meeting between the Spurs and Mavericks to open the season, with the teams splitting the previous four. ... San Antonio returns 14 players, most in franchise history. ... Ginobili shot just 20 percent during the preseason, going 8 for 41 from the field and 2 for 23 on 3-pointers. He was 6 for 13 from the field and 2 for 6 from long range on Tuesday. ... The Spurs lead the league with nine international players. ... Tiago Splitter (calf), Kawhi Leonard (eye infection) and Patty Mills (shoulder) all suited up to receive their rings, but donned jackets and jeans to sit behind the bench during the game.
Mavericks: The Mavericks are 20-15 in season openers. ... G Raymond Felton (sprained right ankle) missed the game. ... F Richard Jefferson, who spent 2 1/2 lackluster seasons in San Antonio, was booed heavily each time he was announced.
The Spurs are at Phoenix on Friday.
The Mavericks host Utah on Thursday.

Scalp Massage

Daily scalp massages have been proven to be a very effective hair growth aid and they really boost hair growth.  Just like our skin, our scalp needs to be pampered and moisturized. Good circulation is an important element in the natural hair growth journey and scalp massages are enjoyable way to relax and boost your hair’s ability to grow.
This is a 60-day challenge. It is individual how you wanna go about it.

  1. Massage scalp 1x daily (for the 1st 30 days, 2x for the remaining 30 days) a). 5-10 minutes in the morning or at night
  2. Take a before picture that shows the length of your hair (front, back and sides)
  3. Write down your measurements of the length of your hair
  4. Measure the length of your hair (front, back & sides) at the end of 30 days
  5. Measure the length of your hair (front, back & sides) at the end of 60 days
  6. Take a picture of your end result. Write down your progress throughout the challenge (for ex. growth, thickness, oils using, etc.)
Don’t look at this as a chore, but an exciting part of your Healthy Hair Growing Journey.  Remember, anything you do for 30-days will become a habit and growing healthy hair is a great habit to create.

Let’s get our massage on!

 How to do Scalp Massages
You can massage your scalp, using the pads of your fingers with any oil of choice or none.
  • Pour some oil into a bowl and warm the oil by placing the bowl in some hot water. The oil should be warm but comfortable to the touch.  Or you can just use your favorite oil straight from the bottle/dropper bottle.
  • Using the pads of your fingers, apply the oil little by little to different parts of your scalp, parting your hair as needed.  Then, using the pads of your fingers, work the oil into your scalp, using circular motions. Slow, deliberate movements are relaxing while steady but vigorous movement helps enhance energy and circulation.
 The Benefits of Scalp Massages
A properly done scalp massage can increase blood circulation to the hair follicles, increase relaxation, decrease stress, condition the scalp, and boost the strength of the hair roots. The kneading pressure applied by massage warms the skin and opens up blood vessels to increase flow and boost circulation. Increased circulation means that the cells of the hair follicle will receive more of the nutrients necessary to optimal hair growth function. The rubbing motion promotes relaxation and feels good, thus increasing the production of "feel good" chemicals that work to lower levels of stress hormone in the body. Lower stress levels allow your organs to function more efficiently, thus boosting your hair follicle's ability to grow hair.
  • It lubricates and conditions the scalp, helping to prevent flakes and dry scalp without the use of harsh chemical shampoos.
  • It helps enhance blood circulation in the head and neck area. When the scalp is “tight” from stress, circulation and hair growth are impeded.
  • It helps relax the scalp and increase pliability.
  • It helps strengthen the roots of the hair and nourishes the hair-shafts, promoting new hair growth and strengthening current hair.
  • It helps soften and condition the hair, making it more manageable.
  • It spreads the natural oils of the hair, increasing hair luster and vibrancy.
  • It helps protect hair from the damaging effects of the sun and harsh weather by improving resiliency over time.
  • It is replenishing and rejuvenating for dry, damaged hair, and helps prevent excessive brittleness and split-ends.

Tips for Carving out Time for a Scalp Massage
  1. When you’re too tired to do your scalp massage, have someone doing it for you.
  2. While watching your favorite show on television, reading or surfing the internet, take a few minutes to do your scalp massage.  You will get it done in no time.
  3. Massage your scalp 1st thing in the morning before you style your hair or in the evening before your tie your hair up.

Information for Scalp Massage Challenge
You must note that most essential oils are very strong and should be used only after diluting it with a carrier oil. Before using them you must also consult your health care provider as some oils could cause irritation and allergic reactions in the body.
There is an essential oil available for nearly every hair or scalp problem. But remember that essential oils are VERY concentrated and shouldn't be used directly on the skin or hair. It's best to use them in combination with carrier oils like almond, olive, castor and jojoba, chosen in accordance with the effect you're looking for. Choose the appropriate essential oil and team it up with carrier oil and soon, you'll find you have long, lustrous hair.

Healthy hair is the result of a healthy scalp, and your scalp is part of your skin.  Regular massages on your scalp not only prevents hair loss but also improves the growth of your hair.

Happy Hair Growing :-)

Stress Management - Learning To Say No: One of the greatest combinations of blessings and burdens that people carry around is the legacy of not being able to say "no." We are socialized to take care of our families, our friends, our communities, and everyone else but ourselves. Our natural desire of acceptance can create stress. Feeling that only you can meet the needs of your family and friends also will create stress. This anxiety can be compounded with the thought that our personal needs will not be met. This malay runs so deep that we are often consumed with guilt at the thought of putting our needs before someone else's. However, for the sake of sanity, sometimes that is just what we need to do. Alleviating stress begins with learning to say "no" and recognizing your strengths and limitations. By taking time out to revive ourselves - spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically - we are actually doing our loved ones a favor because we are better equipped to attend to their needs. When we are tired, it is harder for our light to shine before others as the Bible commands us (see Matt 5:16). When we take care of everybody else and reserve nothing for ourselves, inevitably we fall apart and the very people we feel compelled to take care of have to reverse roles with us. The very idea of saying "no" drives many of us into hiding with the thought, "I shouldn't be so selfish." or "I can't put myself first. It's not right. They need me." True, putting oneself first is not always right, but rather than automatically saying "yes" to every request, we need to evaluate and determine when "no" is appropriate. Sometimes "no" is the right and healthy answer. Although it will not be easy, we must learn to say it. Self-deception, pride, and independence can prevent self-awareness and discernment (Jer. 17:9). God must give the self-awareness needed. He can show you where change is needed and lead you to bring about that change in your life (Ps. 139:23-24). Having been programmed to say "yes" all our lives, saying "no" will feel uncomfortable at first. However, as you practice saying it and offering alternatives to the demands on your time and resources, saying "no" will become easier. Others will be taken aback at first, but you will feel better, and ultimately, serve them better. Once a person acknowledges his/her dependence on God and submits to His will for her/his life, stress will disappear.
Read Jeremiah 17:9 see also Psalm 139:23-24. (KJV)

Missing You

I'm missing you like crazy
I think I'm going mad
I simply can't stop thinking
of the special times we had.

Each moment lasts an hour
Each hour lasts a day
The clock is ticking slowly
Just because you went away.

I need you here beside me
I just want to see your face
To feel your precious heartbeat
And be lost in your embrace.

I gaze out of the window
And look up at the moon
I play the waiting game
And pray you'll be here soon.

They say hope springs eternal
Well I only hope it's true
For I can't bare the emptiness
That comes from missing you.

Lord GOD, You are better to me, than I have ever been to myself. You are the Creator & trainer of my faith, You hold the power to tame my tongue & protect me from myself. Thank You, for shifting my spiritual gears, for not abandoning me to the abusive resources of my fallen nature. Without You I'm just a time bomb waiting to implode. You Give me beauty for my offering of ashes, Take my complaints & teach my tongue to praise, In Jesus name, amen.

Princess Of R&B

godiz - This Aaliyah movie is coming out next month... "Princess of R n B" I love AALIYAH and I've always have. She was my favorite female artist as a youngster and as well a great inspiration in my life. If anybody, I would love to see a biopic about Aaliyah... though, I'm NOT a supporter of this film of "her" being released at all - neither is her family. It's so wrong, I don't even know where to begin... These people didn't even know her? and they're releasing this movie "about her life" without the family's approval. SERIOUSLY!? As a true fan, i think It's so disrespectful and no class what so ever. This is not the image of Aaliyah. It's sad what people do to make money out of rare talent. The media & entertainment business sux! Aaliyah deserves a REAL biopic not some wannabe desperate type of low standard whackness. I mean seriously who gave them the right? Very disappointing. I feel sorry on the behalf of her fam that has to put up with this crap. We didn't wait this long for this.

Oils 4 Hair

Oils Explained: Essential Oils and Carrier Oils For Hair

There are several oils that can be used in hair. By now we know that using mineral oil and petroleum oils and their derivatives is not necessarily the best thing for hair as they seal out moisture, thus contributing to hair dryness in the long run. If you're a bit confused as to what the best oils are for hair and when you should use them, this article offers a look at what the major oils are and which ones are especially good for hair.

Essential Oils

Essential Oils are also called EOs. Oil is considered “essential” in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant from which the oil is extracted. Essential oils are volatile, and are usually derived from the non-seed parts of the plants. Essential oils are generally extracted by distillation.
Essential oils are very useful in homemade hair care products and many of them are very good to treat scalp conditions such as tea tree oil for dandruff, rosemary to grow hair faster, lavender for dry scalp, and peppermint for itchy scalp and to stimulate hair growth. If you are a ‘do it yourselfer’ you can create some very beneficial hair care products for your hair or you can enhance your store bought products by adding a few drops to them for added benefits. Usually essential oils are used very sparingly because they are so concentrated.
List of Essential Oils and Their Benefits To Hair
Lavender Oil: Not only known for its gorgeous scent, it has proven hair benefits and is good for all hair types.  Lavender oil is extracted mostly from the flowers of the lavender plant, primarily through steam distillation. It is a good treatment for dandruff and itching, helpful in controlling hair breakage and improving hair growth. Most widely known to treat alopecia areata, a condition where you lose excessive hair, especially in patches. Daily massage with lavender oil has proven to help significant re-growth and gives you the results in a few months. Lavender oil blends well with many other essential oils including jojoba, rosemary and tea tree oils.
Chamomile Oil:  chamomile is known to  soothe the nerves  and it does the same for your hair and scalp, in fact it is the most soothing of the essential oils for the hair and scalp. Chamomile helps to retract skin cells that have been inflamed from chemical procedures, and harsh weather conditions and helps with itching scaly scalp and dandruff.
Peppermint Oil: helps to stimulate blood flow to the root of the hair. This is very important for hair as it helps the hair to receive proper nourishment. This in turn will lead to hair growth. That tingly feeling when peppermint oil is felt on the scalp is actually the stimulation of  blood flow to hair.
Rosemary Oil – Is another oil which doubles as a fragrant oil and an essential oil. The oil is derived from the rosemary plant and is very useful for dandruff problems and flaky itchy scalp. Rosemary oil stimulates the hair follicles; as a result hair, can grow longer and stronger.
Tea Tree Oil: is a great moisturizer for the hair, it helps to keep the scalp free of bacteria and fungal problems. Tea tree oil unblocks the sebaceous glands and encourage the flow of the scalp’s own moisturizing oils while clearing away dead skin cells. Tea tree oil mixed with other essential oils is especially good as a scalp treatment for relieving dandruff.
Lemon Oil:  is especially beneficial for oily hair, it is recommended that persons with dry hair not use lemon oil, it is a good treatment for dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and under-active sebaceous glands
Myrrh Oil: On the other hand myrrh is very good for dry hair. It helps with the treatment for dry scalp, dandruff problems and under-active sebaceous glands. Use instead of lemon oil if your hair is not oily.
There are several other essential oils that can be used for various hair and scalp conditions. The beauty about essential oils is that once you find one that is good for your hair you can stick with it and you will continue getting great results.

Fragrant Oils For Hair

The best fragrances to use are the natural ones (synthetic fragrances can damage hair) and that is why pure essential oils, diluted in carrier oils are great when you want to add a nice scent to your hair. Put a few drops on your comb or in your final hair rinse water or in your favorite carrier oil and your hair will smell great while being conditioned.
Fragrant Essential Oil Suggestions:
Scalp Massage: Put 3-5 drops on your fingertips and lightly massage into scalp.

Carrier Oils

Another type of oil for hair is called carrier oils. The oils are called carrier oils because they carry the essential oil onto the skin. Carrier oils are also known as base oil or vegetable oil they are usually derived from seeds or nuts. Carrier oils are best used as natural and unadulterated as possible. Cold pressing and maceration are the two main methods of producing carrier oils. Carrier oils are very important in hair care; they are great moisturizers, strengtheners and very nourishing for hair.
List of Carrier Oils and Their Benefits To Hair
Jojoba Oil – The debate is whether jojoba is the king of the carrier oils. Many scalp related problems are caused by a hardened build-up of sebum that clogs the hair follicles and may cause some types of scaling. If this hardened build-up is not removed, it can eventually obstruct the hair follicle’s ability to function properly, jojoba rapidly penetrates down to the scalp and hair shaft, and readily loosens and dissolves this hardened build-up. The scalp and hair follicles are left clean and free to continue their normal function. Jojoba is great for all hair types and has an ability to inhibit excess activity of the sebaceous glands making it the perfect choice for people with oily scalps that still need conditioning. Likewise it can be used for dry hair as it helps to moisturize your hair properly.
Olive Oil – Only olive oil that is labelled “extra virgin” guarantees that the oil has been cold pressed from freshly harvested olives and does not contain chemicals. Extra virgin olive oil that is green in color is of higher quality than golden-yellow oil. Olive oil helps in preventing as well as curing hair loss as  it prevents the production of the hormone DTH which causes the hair follicle shaft to decrease. Regular application of olive oil to hair prevents the production of DTH hormones on the scalp, thus getting rid of the problem of hair loss. For relaxed/permed hair ladies excessive chemical use can cause hair damage, olive oil contains antioxidants that promotes a healthy hair  and scalp. Olive oil strengthens and smooths hair cuticles.
Coconut Oil - Coconut oil consists of more than ninety percent of saturated fats Vitamin-E and Vitamin K and minerals such as Iron. Coconut oil is considered one of the best natural nutrition for hair and is in contention with olive and jojoba oils as the king of the carrier oils. It is an excellent conditioner and helps in the re-growth of damaged hair. It also provides the essential proteins required for nourishing damaged hair and it softens the hair and conditions the scalp.
Castor Oil – is a vegetable oil obtained from the castor bean. Castor oil is a colorless to very pale yellow liquid with mild or no odor or taste. It is rich in ricinoleic acid and can be used to treat skin conditions such as fungal infections. It nourishes hair and prevents the scalp from drying by retaining moisture. Castor oil added to hair care products helps to seal moisture, softens, and visibly thickens hair. Castor oil can also be used by itself on the hair to seal in moisture.
Vitamin E Oil - Proper circulation leads to thriving hair follicles  which leads to hair growth. Vitamin E contains valuable antioxidants that help to keep the immune system up and improves circulation to all parts of the body, including the scalp. When added to homemade products, Vitamin E extends their shelf life. This oil  rejuvenates and offers protection for the scalp and skin.
Avocado Oil- is extracted from the king of the ‘hair’ fruits avocado. It is full of vitamins that your hair needs like vitamins A, E, D and potassium. If you want a super deep conditioner treatment without having to buy a commercial preparation, you can add avocado oil to the other carrier oils and you will definitely feel and see the difference.

The word holy means "unique", "set apart", "unlike all others". The basic idea of holiness is that of distinctiveness. It is first applied to God and, by application, to people. God is separated from the universe. God is, by His every nature, holy. Sin does not exist in God: therefore, God does not deceive. This is an aspect of God that is very difficult to grasp. Our own understanding of holiness is limited by our attempts at being holy. We so often try to remake God in our own image, we cannot grasp the notion that God is distinct from His creation. God is the one and only (Isa. 40:25). In his great vision, Isaiah saw the Lord in His temple (see Isaiah 6). He saw God's glory and heard the angels declare, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory" (v. 3). Once Isaiah comprehended God's holiness, he understood his own sinfulness. He declared, "Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and i dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips" (v. 5). True worship of God is possible only when we recognize His holiness. As we look at our communities, see the senseless violence by and against our children, and labor under the systematic racism of our society, it is important that we know who God is, and why we serve Him. Isaiah said to the people of Israel, "Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, not be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself: and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread" (8:12-13). Since the Lord alone is holy, we should not be surprised at the various scandals, sensationalistic news, and dire statics. We also should not be sidetracked by them. Our response to a world gone haywire is to be still and know that God is God (Ps. 46:10).

Fall In The O Dress

Cinnabon Buns

godiz - and over here we're celebrating... cinnabon day, today. anyone?

Aggressive Dog

Dog aggression is a major dog problem for owners. I want to help you understand the causes of dog aggression, so you can overcome this dog problem. Dog aggression stems from the dog's frustration and dominance. The dog's frustration comes from a lack of dog exercise, and the dog's dominance comes from a lack of calm-assertive leadership.

Breed and Dog Aggression

I deal with a lot of red zone dog behavior cases, and I often hear people incorrectly blaming the breed. Any breed can cause trouble. The difference between an aggressive Chihuahua and an aggressive pit bull is that the bigger breeds can cause proportionately bigger damage.
It is important to recognize the power of a strong breed, like the pit bull, the Cane Corso, and the Mastiff. These dogs are very powerful and, if they are unbalanced, they can cause serious injury. Remember, these dogs don’t dream of being in the news when they grow up. Bad dog behavior and dog problems are not premeditated. Bad things happen when powerful breeds (or mixes of powerful breeds) live with humans who like the breed but don’t understand and fulfill the animal in the dog. Many people consider the look or popularity of a breed before thinking about whether the dog works for their lifestyle. This is a recipe for disaster.
To control a powerful breed of dog, you need to become the dog’s pack leader and establish rules, boundaries, and limitations. You need to fulfill the dog as Nature intended the dog to be fulfilled. If you are considering adopting a powerful breed, make sure you are willing and able to take on the responsibility.

Fear and Aggressive Dogs

For many fear and aggressive dogs, it is a lack of adequate dog exercise that is the root of the dog problem behavior. Dog exercise burns the dog's excess energy and helps maintain the dog's healthy state of mind. This is important because, in order to talk to the mind, you need to remove the energy from the body.

Dog on Dog Aggression

With dog on dog aggression, your dogs are asking you to step up as the pack leader. Animals select pack leaders because they instinctually know who is strong and who can best lead them. An animal pack leader is concerned for the pack, not for himself. His natural instincts are protection and direction for the entire pack. It’s an unselfish role and an instinctual role. And in return, the pack completely trusts the pack leader. You need to earn your dogs’ trust, loyalty, and respect before the dogs will look to you as their leader and you do this by giving them rules, boundaries, and limitations.
Once your dogs see you as their pack leader, the dog on dog aggression will stop as they stop fighting for dominance because you will be their calm-assertive pack leader.

Red Zone Dogs

It is important to understand that red zone dogs are usually frustrated dogs. To control a powerful breed, you need to master the position of pack leader. The sheer size and strength of a pit bull, Mastiff, Cane Corso, Rottweiler, or any other large dog can quickly transform a frustrated and dominant animal into a serious threat. You must gain control of the situation and dog behavior before it escalates.
When dealing with red zone dogs, I start by working with the owners, explaining how to establish themselves as the pack leader and to understand the animal in their dog. This is a crucial part of rehabilitating your dog and overcoming dog problems: changing YOUR behavior. If you revert to your old ways, so will your dog.
