In & Ex

Funny, I just realized lately, that I’m a very lousy breather. And I decided to do some research on a proper breathing.

No. I don’t have any respiratory problems yet, thanks God. I just don’t breathe deep enough. And sometimes, when I’m very busy, I forget to breathe at all.
Did you know that we can live for weeks without food, days without water, but only minutes without breathing.
90% of our energy comes from oxygen, and only 10% from food! I didn’t know that. So we can skip a meal, but not a breath.
Deep, proper breathing ( of clean air ) can cure  almost any disease. ( ? )
Oxygen keeps our cells alive, kills bacteria, fungi, viruses, burns toxins in our bodies.
Shortly speaking, insufficient oxygen levels in our blood make us sick.
So, we breathe in air, use the oxygen in it and exhale carbon dioxide. Plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. What about carrying a small plant wherever we go? Maybe not. But I would place a plant in every room in my house.
So, we breathe in air, the red blood cells carry the oxygen to all cells in our body. Then the red blood cells carry carbon dioxide from all the cells to the lungs and exchange for new oxygen what we just breathed in, or whatever else we just breathed in.
So I’m reminding myself: “Keep Breathing!” And every time I think: “Breathe!” I’m sending a message to all my cells: “Hey you little ones, here is some more oxygen for you, keep going.
And one more thing, try to breathe as little as possible in very polluted places , and take deeper breaths whenever you find yourself surrounded by clean air.
So don’t forget to breathe! Good health to all!

How you can breathe your way to good health

We all do it on average 20,000 times a day - but are we doing it properly?
While most of us never give breathing a second thought, the way you draw breath can affect your physical and mental wellbeing.
Breathing properly can reduce your stress levels, improve your workouts and boost your immunity to infections and illnesses. Poor breathing can lead to panic attacks and even conditions like insomnia and depression.

Why is breathing properly important?
Breathing correctly means that our bodies are being supplied with the right amount of oxygen, replenishing our brain and other vital organs with essential nutrients.
If you are not breathing correctly, your body can be robbed of oxygen, leading to a host of conditions.
Your skin can suffer as it is not receiving enough fresh oxygenated blood, your muscles can tire easily during a workout as they are not getting the right amount of oxygen and you can feel constantly tired and lethargic because there are not enough vital nutrients being carried in the blood.
Breathing incorrectly can also affect the levels of carbon dioxide - or CO2 - in the blood. While oxygen is important for our bodies to function properly, CO2 is just as vital.
You need a balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide. If you breathe too fast, you breathe off too much carbon dioxide, which, in turn, will make your whole system too alkaline.
'A certain level of CO2 is necessary for your cells to maintain the correct level of acidity and to function properly.'

What effect does breathing incorrectly have on my health?
When we are babies, we all take deep, relaxing breaths from our abdomen - if you have a babies, watch your children when they are asleep to see how their stomach rises and falls rather than their chest.
As we get older, stress often changes the way we breathe. When we are stressed, our bodies operate on the 'fight or flight' response to whatever is scaring us. This means we take short sharp breaths to help prepare for the 'fight' we will have to face.
But prolonged periods of stress mean we constantly breathe like this, only ever using the top third of our lungs. This causes us to breathe as if we were permanently hyperventilating.
This leads to a poor exchange of oxygen and CO2 in the bloodstream, depriving our bodies of both vital gases.
The physiological effect of a lack of CO2 can make you feel 'spaced out' and can lead to panic attacks, insomnia, dizziness and extreme fatigue, while lack of oxygen can rob your organs
and muscles of a proper blood flow.
Hyperventilating also increases the heart rate, leading to palpitations and contributes to feelings of anxiety and being out of control.
When victims are having a panic attack, the best remedy is to let them breathe into a paper bag. This means they are re-inhaling the exhaled carbon dioxide, boosting their levels of CO2 back to normal.

How can I breathe correctly?
To breathe properly, you need to use your diaphragm, the large sheet-like muscle that lies at the bottom of the chest cavity.
To find your diaphragm, sit comfortably or lie on your back on the floor. Place your left hand on your upper chest and your right hand on your abdomen, in the 'gap' of your rib cage.
When you breathe in and out, your left hand should remain still and only your right hand should move up and down. If your left hand is moving, your breathing is too shallow and you are not using your diaphragm as you should.
Try to alter your breathing so only your right hand moves as you do so.

A few tips to make sure you are breathing properly.
'One in-breath and one out-breath are one cycle, Try to slow your breathing down to eight to ten cycles per minute without breathing from your upper chest area. Aim to breathe slowly and smoothly.'
Slow, rhythmic breathing will help regulate the flow of oxygen and CO2, slow the heart rate - easing anxiety - and ensure your circulation is carrying the optimum amount of nutrients around the body.
Regulating your breathing will also help boost your performance during exercise as your muscles will be fully replenished with the right amounts of energy-giving oxygen.

Sea Star Story

Once, during a flood, there were a lot of sea-stars brought to the shore. The low tide came and a big amount of them started drying up in the sun. A boy, walking down the shore, started throwing the sea-stars into the sea, so that they could continue their lives.

A person came up to him and asked:

- Why are you doing this? Look around! There are millions of sea-stars; the shore is covered with them. Your attempts won’t change anything! The boy picked up the following sea-star, thought for a moment, threw it into the sea and said:

- No, my attempt will change a lot…for this sea-star.

What does the Bible say about faith?

Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Perhaps no other component of life is more important than faith. We cannot purchase it, sell it or give it to our friends. So what is faith and what role does faith play in our life? The dictionary defines faith as “belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof.” It also defines faith as “belief in and devotion to God.” The Bible has much more to say about faith and how important it is. In fact, it is so important that, without faith, we have no place with God, and it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). According to the Bible, faith is belief in the one, true God without actually seeing Him.

Where does faith come from? Faith is not something we conjure up on our own, nor is it something we are born with, nor is faith a result of diligence in study or pursuit of the spiritual. Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear that faith is a gift from God, not because we deserve it, have earned it, or are worthy to have it. It is not from ourselves; it is from God. It is not obtained by our power or our free will. Faith is simply given to us by God, along with His grace and mercy, according to His holy plan and purpose, and because of that, He gets all the glory.

Why have faith? God designed a way to distinguish between those who belong to Him and those who don’t, and it is called faith. Very simply, we need faith to please God. God tells us that it pleases Him that we believe in Him even though we cannot see Him. A key part of Hebrews 11:6 tells us that “He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” This is not to say that we have faith in God just to get something from Him. However, God loves to bless those who are obedient and faithful. We see a perfect example of this in Luke 7:50. Jesus is engaged in dialog with a sinful woman when He gives us a glimpse of why faith is so rewarding. “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” The woman believed in Jesus Christ by faith, and He rewarded her for it. Finally, faith is what sustains us to the end, knowing that by faith we will be in heaven with God for all eternity. “Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:8-9).

Examples of faith. Hebrews chapter 11 is known as the “faith chapter” because in it great deeds of faith are described. By faith Abel offered a pleasing sacrifice to the Lord (v. 4); by faith Noah prepared the ark in a time when rain was unknown (v. 7); by faith Abraham left his home and obeyed God’s command to go he knew not where, then willingly offered up his only son (vv. 8-10, 17); by faith Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt (vv. 23-29); by faith Rahab received the spies of Israel and saved her life (v. 31). Many more heroes of the faith are mentioned “who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies” (vv. 33-34). Clearly, the existence of faith is demonstrated by action.

According to the Bible, faith is essential. Without demonstrating faith and trust in God, we have no place with Him. We believe in God’s existence by faith. Most people have a vague, disjointed notion of who God is but lack the reverence necessary for His exalted position in their lives. These people lack the true faith needed to have an eternal relationship with the God who loves them. Our faith can falter at times, but because it is the gift of God, given to His children, He provides times of trial and testing in order to prove that our faith is real and to sharpen and strengthen it. This is why James tells us to consider it “pure joy” when we fall into trials, because the testing of our faith produces perseverance and matures us, providing the evidence that our faith is real (James 1:2-4).

Hebrew 11:1
Faith is the conviction concerning those things that are in hope, as if it were these things in action, and the revelation of those things that are unseen;

Corinthians 5:7
For it is by faith that we walk and not by sight.

John 20:29
Yeshua said to him, “Now that you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen me and have believed.

Methyl Sulfonyl Methane

Technically, MSM is an abbreviation for methyl-sulfonyl-methane, which is organic sulfur compound. This compound is the third largest nutrient found in the human body and is found in all vertebrates. MSM is also an ingredient found in quite a few foods, meat, dairy products as well as vegetables.

The clinical use of sulfur as an adjunct in our diet is becoming progressively more recognized as an important tool for optimizing health. MSM is already well-known for its joint health benefits, but it may be important for a whole host of other reasons as well.

Certainly, diet is the primary tool for reducing your risk for chronic degenerative diseases.

5 Key Benefits Of MSM

From increasing your energy levels to helping with conditions like allergies and asthma, MSM performs a series of important functions in your body every day. Let’s look closely at some of the most important ones.

1. Key Source Of Sulfur

Sulfur is perhaps one of the most important nutrients required by our body as it is present in the amino acids which are in turn the basic building blocks of protein.

It also has a series of other healing and preventive properties for the human body. MSM happens to be the best form of sulfur which can be consumed both in the form of food products as well as dietary supplements.

2. Bone And Joint Care

MSM is a beneficial nutrient for your bone health, helping conditions like arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Being a calcium phosphate dissolved, MSM helps in breaking up the unhealthy calcium deposits in the body that are the root cause of degenerative diseases.

In addition, taking adequate supplements of MSM helps in:
Improving joint flexibility
Reducing pain and swelling
Reducing stiffness
Improving circulation
Improving cell vitality

3. The Detoxification Effect

MSM considerably increases the permeability of your cells which means that it increases cells capability of flushing out excess fluids and toxins. This mechanism has a very important detoxifying effect, making way for essential nutrients into your system and thereby improving the overall functioning of your cell membranes.

4. Skin And Hair Care

The sulfur provided by MSM produces generous quantities of collagen and keratin, both of which are vital for healthy hair and nails. In fact, MSM is often referred to as the ‘beauty mineral’ owing to its ability to add to enhance the thickness and strength of nails as well as hair in a very short span of time.

Moreover, research also shows that MSM is quite helpful in the treatment of skin conditions such as:
  • Psoriasis
  • Eczema
  • Rosacea
  • Dermatitis
  • Acne
  • Dandruff

5. Natural Energy Booster

We just explained how MSM increases the permeability of our cells. Owing to this increased permeability, these cells then need a lesser amount of energy to deal with the accumulated toxins. Moreover, due to the detoxification, it becomes easier for the body to absorb nutrients, which in turn reduces the amount of energy spent on digestion of your food.

Other benefits;
  • Helps in conditions like asthma
  • Helpful in allergies
  • Helpful in maintaining a proper pH balance
  • Helps cure gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea, nausea, constipation and hyperacidity
  • Helps reduce snoring, when taken diluted with 16 percent water content
  • Helps conditions like cramps, headaches and muscular pain, especially caused by hormonal imbalance
  • Heals carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Helps balance your blood sugar level
  • Reduces overall stress levels
